Thalys becomes Eurostar

Traveling further together

We’re excited to announce that Thalys is becoming Eurostar. We’re bringing you more routes, new destinations and easier connections than ever. Our name is changing, but our fast trains and famous service aren’t. You will find below a timeline of the changes to come in the next few months.

Traveling further together

Since their creation, Eurostar and Thalys have shared the same vocation: to connect Europeans across borders while respecting the environment.

Pooling their resources, in particular their fleets and their information and distribution systems, would enable them to achieve greater economic and environmental efficiency, serving the development of commercial offers and benefiting customers, with the ultimate ambition of linking even more European cities together.

Initiated in September 2019, the alliance project is based on 5 objectives:

  • An attractive alternative to road and air transport for nearly 30 million passengers a year by 2030.
  • A high-speed offer based on renewable energy and an ambitious ecological policy.
  • Simplified international journeys for every customer, with one-way tickets, optimized timetables for fast connections, and innovative digital tools to support passengers at every stage of their journey.
  • Attractive fare offers and a joint loyalty program.
  • Quality, warm, attentive and multicultural service.

A new brand identity from October

Eurostar group has chosen an emblematic star as its symbol and new logo, inspired by the Etoile du Nord, the original train service linking Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam, and paying homage to the first Eurostar logo.

A sparkling animated graphic acts as a compass, symbolizing the brand’s aim: to bring new opportunities to life, connecting people, places, businesses and cultures across borders.

This identity has been adapted to the digital age and designed to help the company in its development. It will be deployed from October 2023 via:

  • A new joint loyalty program
  • A new Eurostar website
  • A new Eurostar for Agents website
