The UK government is continuing to roll out its Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) programme. It allows all travellers who don’t need a visa to visit the UK for short stays of up to 6 months.
From Wednesday 2th April 2025, this list will be expanded to include all EU nationalities.
Each ETA costs £10 per person (Approximately 12 €*) and once approved will be valid for either two years or until passport expiry (whichever is sooner).
British (and Irish) citizens do not need an ETA, nor do those travelling on a British overseas territories citizen passport. Those with a valid UK visa and those with permission to live, work or study in the UK (including settled or pre-settled status or right of abode) also do not need to apply.
European nationals travelling to the UK can check if they need an ETA here and apply online from Wednesday 5th March 2025.
Please note that the information on this page is correct at the time of publication, but check the UK government’s ETA website for the most up to date information.
