Eurostar joins the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

We are proud to announce our membership in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower programme across all destinations. The sunflower is a globally recognised symbol that allows people with nonvisible disabilities to discreetly signal that they may need more time, space, or support during their journey. Passengers wearing a Sunflower lanyard, wristband or badge can discreetly signal that they may need extra assistance, space, time or understanding while travelling.

Accessible travel with Eurostar

Accessible travel with Eurostar

Eurostar staff has received dedicated training to recognise the Sunflower symbol and better understand different types of disabilities, helping them provide more attentive and appropriate support throughout the journey.

Passengers can request assistance after booking, either online or via the Contact Centre (for travel to/from London), or through local providers on other routes. Requests should be made at least 24 hours before departure.

Support includes wheelchair spaces near accessible toilets, fixed-fare companion tickets, priority seating, and help with luggage and navigating stations. Assistance is also available for pregnant passengers and those travelling with young children, while assistance animals travel free of charge.

Eurostar has improved its digital experience with a more accessible booking platform, clearer guidance via its Accessibility Hub, and flexible aftersales options for customers needing assistance.

Accessibility has also been enhanced across stations and trains, with upgrades such as step-free access, better signage, improved seating, and expanded assistance services as luggage support and access to station wheelchairs at key hubs like Brussels-Midi and Amsterdam Centraal.

A step towards greater inclusivity

A step towards greater inclusivity

By adopting the Sunflower, we are taking an important step toward improving awareness and customer experience for those living with conditions that may not be immediately visible – including chronic pain, neurodivergence, mental health conditions and many others.

This initiative strengthens our commitment to creating a travel environment that is more inclusive, more understanding, and more supportive for every passenger who chooses Eurostar.
